Hopefully W7YH at Washington State University can participate in the contest. We're going through all of the bureaucracy to get permission to transmit at our location which houses electronics research. Hopefully by the SCR, we'll have permission to be fully operational. Besides voice, we'll probably do some PSK-31 and get a few satellite contacts as well.

David,

Glad to hear the the WSU club is gearing back up! Sounds like one heck of a story to get back on the air haha, best of luck to you all. I am definitely looking forward to getting on the air for SCR and hopefully grab WSU on the air, here at RIT we will be on AIM with a screen name of K2GXT if you would like to SKED.

Unfortunately SCR will be during week 9 of our 10 week quarter and school has been destroying me this quarter, a nice warm "Welcome back from Co-op!" How many people do you think will be getting on the air? Also, even you do not get any contacts during the event but listen around and such to the activity send in a log to SCR, they want to know who is participating! If you have issues with RFI and the research that is being conducted low power PSK-31 might be a good idea to try, it usually a pretty safe mode to grab a few contacts.

73's,
-Brent

Well there is some great news about the WSU club. We've got permission from the Dean to enter full operations. So far, no complaints have come up from any of the sensitive projects or research conducted in the building. We have an IC-751a running 100W on a 7-Band OCF Buckmaster Dipole Antenna on the room of the building. I got on the air yesterday for the first time and made my first DX contact with a guy in Japan which shows that our equipment is running fine.

So we'll definitely be ready for the SCR. We'll probably have 6 or so members take turns throughout the event. Hopefully we can get some non-Hams interested as well.

Great to hear David. It's weird to hear you say that you made a DX QSO with Japan like it was not too hard for you. From the East coast Japan is one of the more rare stations. However, I would assume that this is similar to us East Coast stations talking about QSO's with Europe and African stations .

W0ISU now officially has a digital capable station. Made my first PSK contacts today from the club room using a hacked together interface! woot. So I am looking forward to SCR with SSB, PSK and hopefully satellite! Too lazy to bother with CW this time around.

Now back to my other project

Now that we are only a week away, does anyone have any updates? Prelim operating schedule?

I am hoping to be on air for a while starting at 2000UTC on mon, wed, and fri and hopefully a fair chunk of the day on tue and thur. Depending on homework I may get on for an hour or so before class as well. We will be operating SSB and PSK and if there is any interest, any of the v/uhf satellites. I am also going to setup some form of IM account for the club, who uses which protocol?

Right now it looks like the UMBC Club (KB3CVD) will be operating at various times throughout the week. We know for sure that we will be at the shack on Thursday starting around 1 local time, for an open house event. We will be operating on PSK31 and SSB Phone

Well it looks like the WSU Club (W7YH) should be on the air Mon 11am-4pm (PST), Tue 8am-10am (PST) and Wed 9:30am-2:30pm (PST). At least those are the times I'll be operating. Other members should be filling in the rest of the gaps for the other days. I know we're aiming to have near the max. 24 hour operating time. We'll be doing PSK and voice, but I might take a look at some of the passes try some satellites.

I am trying to formulate a set schedule with our general class and higher members, but it's looking like a lot of people are really busy as it will be week 9 of 10 in our quarters. I hope to be down in the club room likely sometime Monday and Wednesday, followed by mid afternoon Friday but as for specifics it looks like I'll know by the end of this week. Our amplifier seems to be having some more issue but with different electronics this time, so barefoot SSB and some PSK-31 will be in the mix!

FYI, SCR-Log has been updated but you must e-mail the guy to get the new software as it outputs ADIF logs! I need to e-mail him to make sure I get the update, he hasn't gotten back to me yet :/

Thanks,
-Brent

Hey!

I hope SCR is starting off well for everyone, remember to send in your daily reports to us in a Private message or Contact Us email! We will post them on the CollegeARC blog each night so that everyone can see the current status/scores!

Also, for K2GXT in Rochester, NY, you can find our general schedule on our Google calendar for the event.

Good luck es 73's,
