Let me know what you think of the University Net Manager! It is currently in a very limited state of development due to academics taking preference for my time but I hope to work on it soon. With your input I hope to greatly improve the quality, usefulness, and appeal of the University Net Manager. For starters, here's what I have planned to add:

• Net control list & sign-up
• Net topic list and submission
• University net statistics (in-depth)
• Integrate into our current point/awards system.

Very cool. You guys have some great ideas.

Some suggestions I had:

• Have school name linkable and when clicked on displays other checkins from that school (similar to when the callsign is clicked on and dates checked-in are displayed).
• Similarly, when on a individual's page and click on a date, brings up the checkins from that date.
• Not sure what the sort order is but on my individual page, the October & November dates are flipped (goes: Sept, Nov, Oct, Jan).

Very true, I could incorporate that with a statistics screen for each school with things like all callsigns that have checked in from it, most checkins, etc. It poses a few tricks to get around if the school isn't typed in right but I could potentially verify it with checking the callsign and associated school if they are on CollegeARC.

I do plan on a statistics page in general so this could roll along with it. Adding date criteria is another one that I might have overlooked, thanks! As for the flipped dates, I'll look into flipping them around when I can. I actually noticed this too only a few days ago and somehow initially missed it.Thanks for the suggestions I really appreciate them!

Would it be possible to make this into a live updated manager? So we could see who has checked into the net so far?

I think it would be interesting to have a visual representation of where people we talk to are located.

KB3UAU, that's another good idea. It may take a while but it would be pretty neat. I guess a map would be neat too I would imagine this would involve some ajax to update live which I am not too familiar with using but I'm alway up for learning . Keep them ideas flowing!

The most obvious thing to me would to include the name and callsign of the net control operator of each net on each weekly net page (www.collegearc.com/index.php?option=com_jlogbook&view=univnetweek&date=2011-01-11)

Out of curiosity, what is the data source for the UNM? Are you pulling from the Google Docs spreadsheet or adding these manually?

Yup, one of my first additions will be a way to show who was the net control operator and have a way for people to sign up. As for pulling the data, I actually manually enter them myself right now. The UNM accepts ADIF log input so eventually I may ask the Net Op to log on their favorite logger and send and ADIF over, who knows. I also might add an online way to log for Net Control too. Which reminds me, I could post the current ADIF if anyone is interested.

For now I am the only who does it since I was able to do my best to secure the component for user input (GET & POST commands, etc) but didn't get the time to do so for the ADIF upload while on break (thanks 23 page lab report over xmas break...), so I restricted that to the back-end administrative section in order to keep it secure (only Brent and I... and Im pretty sure Brent wont maliciously upload stuff :/ hehe)

I'm having trouble deciphering what the graph means. It looks great, but I don't know how to get the information off of it. Labels would be great.

Good spot there. Well, right now it's a very simple Google chart implementation. If you poke around at the link feel free to let me know what you might want to see used on this component. As I have more data available to me and more time to code it into the website I'll bring more in.
