The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the oldest amateur radio club in the nation and has continued it's path of a rich history.  Their first call sign issued, "1XM", the MIT Radio Society has enjoyed over 100 years of operating the airwaves. The school holds two call signs W1XM and W1MX, both sporting their interests over the campus. W1XM is the MIT UHF Repeater Association and holds a primary interest  in the VHF and higher bands. W1MX is the school's High Frequency and general amateur radio club.

The club has completed countless projects over their history and can be found on their website. The MIT Radio Society's (W1MX) website can be found here. It has been kept up-to-date on many events including their special event station commemorating 100 years of operating as well as several projects.

The MIT UHF Repeater Club (W1XM) also has a website that provides information regarding repeater operation. They also have a notable contesting station and provide more details online which can be found here.
